Budding Artists

Children ages 4 – 6 accompanied by an adult may use their creativity to make seasonally-inspired works of art in Gainesville. Something new each time!

Haunted Hike

Enjoy a night hike along Duke’s Creek as we make our way towards the frontier cabin. We will gather ’round the candlelit cabin and tell ghost stories. Bring a spooky story you would like to share and be prepared for a howling good time. Hot chocolate will be provided.  $5 plus $5 parking.

Mi Casa Es Su Casa

We will celebrate the “Cinco de Mayo” with a hike totally guided in Spanish. Throughout a moderate hike our naturalist will explain native plants’ uses and look for wildlife. Come and learn some new vocabulary or practice your Spanish skills.

Meet at the day-use boat ramp parking lot. Wear close-toed shoes. If weather doesn’t permit, we will do indoor activities.

Jr. Master Naturalist & Home School Education Programs

Elachee’s “Junior Master Naturalist” Home School Education Program. 6th – 12th grades.
First Wednesdays of each month, Second semester session- January 6, 2016 – May 4th, 2016, 1:30-4:00 p.m. Join Elachee staff and special speakers for a series of hands-on programs that explore habitats and ecosystems in GA utilizing the 1,400-acre Chicopee Woods preserve. Programs are a combination of indoor/outdoor exploration in a small group setting with age-appropriate activities. Program Fees: program year – $100 per student for Elachee members, $130 per student for non-members, no charge for parents; semester (fall or spring) – $65 per student for Elachee members, $85 per student for non-members, no charge for parents.
