Christmas on the Pond

Join us to usher in the holiday season. Visit with Santa, enjoy storytelling, hayrides, a marshmallow roast and homemade refreshments. Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. and be available until 8:30 p.m. Hayrides will start at 5:30 p.m. and run until 9 p.m.

Pioneer Harvest Festival

Celebrate the history of farm life in the wiregrass region of south Georgia at the park’s annual fall festival. The day will include demonstrations of farm life, an arts and craft show, local entertainers, syrup making and more.

Lovebug Festival

Explore the wonderful world of insects at the park’s third annual Lovebug Festival. Activities will include edible bug programs, kids insect-related crafts, exploring the park’s new pollinator garden and more.

J.A.K.E.S. Day

This event is designed to help pass on the traditions of hunting, ethics and to teach safety and responsible hunting. Join your children for a fun filled day with archery, bb shooting, hunting demonstrations and a turkey calling contest. All kids 17 and under will be eligible to participate (some events may be inappropriate for younger children).

Archery competition will be open to age groups of 10-13 and 14-17
Turkey calling contest will be open to age groups of 5-10 and 11-17
Pin the beard on the turkey,
Coloring / Face painting stations,
Hunting and tree stand safety seminars.

Spring Fling

Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day with fun family activities. Kids will be able to make their own nature craft projects to take home. The Friends of General Coffee State Park will be hosting the Spring Arts and Craft Festival as part of this event. Pitcher Plant Bog Habitat

Would you like to see a carnivorous bug eating plant? If so come take a Ranger Guided Tour of the parks hidden gem the Pitcher Plant Bog during the months of April, May and June. This unique habitat is vital to many of the parks plants, wildlife and insect species. Tours will be Monday through Saturday and offered on a first come serve basis. $5 parking.

Bunnies, Baskets & Eggs

Be on the lookout for the Easter Bunny at the Bunnies, Baskets and Eggs program this Saturday (3/19). Ages 3 – 10 can create their own Easter baskets and go on a kid-friendly egg scavenger hunt through the woods. Columbia County 4-H bunny club will be there with extra bunnies as well.Meet at the Nature Center at 10. Scavenger hunt around 11

Hamburg Spring Fling

This annual festival begins at 9 a.m., park visitors can browse arts and crafts booths and food vendors and enjoy live entertainment,watch the historic gristmill in operation, and take an old-fashioned hayride.
