Southeastern Cowboy Festival

Enjoy three stages of continuous entertainment including Western music, re-enactments of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, demonstrations of traditional Native American dancing, living history encampments of pioneer skills from bygone days, a Western marketplace, and fun and free children’s activities such as art projects, hay bale calf roping, chalk art, Western Town Bouncy House, and the Little Red Barn Petting Zoo featuring chickens, sheep, goats, ponies, cows, pigs, rabbits, and more! From 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, enjoy a Chalk Art Demonstration with students from Harrison and Kennesaw Mountain High Schools! Marketplace vendors will be selling Western art and collectibles, jewelry and clothing, food, pottery, and much more. And, don’t forget to stroll through the festival grounds and interact with Western entertainers and characters!

Reptiles at Red Top

Join us in the Discovery Room to find out what makes reptile tick. We will show you remnants of turtle shells, a few live turtles, and maybe a snake or two. Come check out these rocking reptiles.

Wild Cave Tours

You will get muddy and wet on a family friendly underground adventure. Our guides will educate you on cave formations, bats, and geology while you have fun getting muddy and wet climbing and crawling your way through a wild cave. www.GeorgiaGirlGuides.com. Reservations required.

Georgia Girl Guides offers many different wild cave tours for individuals, families, and for groups, starting at ages 6 and up. If you do not see a tour that fits your days, please contact us. We need a minimum of 4 participants to book a tour.

Archaeology and Artifact ID Day

Celebrate Archaeology month by bringing in your artifacts to be identified by professionals. Discover what archaeologists do and how they learn from artifacts. There will be various activities throughout the day.

Native American Tools

Learn from an expert how to make, use and care for ancient tools and weapons. See why their uses often meant survival. Also explore the earthen mounds and visit the museum.

Nature Arts ‘n’ Crafts

Calling all Cloudland Canyon Kids: join the park naturalist to learn about the park’s plants and animals and make something special to take home. Activities change each week. Click for more details. All ages of children and families welcome. This is a drop-in program; come and join in the craft anytime between 1 pm and 2:30 pm.

Stars of Red Top (Star Gazing)

Join us on Friday evenings at Red Top Mountain to observe the stars above us. Telescopes on hand, and you can bring your own equipment as well. We will talk about well-known constellations. Meet us at the Visitor’s Center by 8:15pm to sign in. We will carpool to the Park Office/Lodge. Bring a blanket, binoculars and a flashlight with red light.

Pot o’ Gold Hike

Come celebrate St. Patrick�s Day weekend by exploring Georgia�s rich gold mining history. 3 mile hike is recommended for ages 10 and up and mildly strenuous with several creek crossings. You can even try your hand at panning for gold. Call ahead to make your reservation.
