Sunny weather and a fresh breeze means it time for explorers to get back to the Arboretum! This session will include learning about native flowers in the prairie,service learning through weeding and a nature craft to take to take home.
Homeschoolers and unschoolers are invited to play and learn with like-minded kids at the Trees Atlanta TreeHouse. Our homeschool programs are designed for the a-typical thinker who seeks a personal connection to Atlanta’s urban forest. We offer a unique blend of exploration on the Atlanta BeltLine, environmental education and urban forest crafts for ages 7-13.

– Please note this is a student only event. Parents are welcomed to drop off their student(s) at 10:00 a.m. and return for pick-up at 1:00 p.m.
Cadette level Girl Scouts can complete the first step to earning their “Trees” badge. Visit the Trees Atlanta TreeHouse, identify trees on the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, learn about tree parts, create a tree craft, and discuss the urban forest and its growth.
Cadettes can sign up for a tree planting with Trees Atlanta to complete their requirement to earn one of their Legacy Badges.
Learn, explore, and play at Trees Atlanta’s Junior TreeKeeper BreakAway Camp! As a budding environmental steward, your stewardship and wonder for nature ensures a thriving urban forest for all generations. Junior TreeKeepers explore the outdoors with hands-on activities in environmental science, biking the Atlanta BeltLine, field trips to local attractions and more fun! Join us for our camps timed to match APS teacher work days and shorter school breaks.
Join a park ranger and other home schoolers during this outdoor, educational program. We will be discussing different topics related to science and nature; typically relating to the current season. Explore the trails of the Chattahoochee Nature Center with a docent led walk through the forest or wetland. The walks are suitable for all ages and will include stops to explore the Chattahoochee Watershed and learn about the plants and animals. Hands on biofacts will be available to enhance the experience.

Join us every Thursday and Friday at 11 am for Creature Feature! Meet one of our native, resident animals with a CNC Naturalist. Each month will be a different theme so Creature Feature is always exciting! Location will vary so check with admissions desk when you arrive!
