Toddler Tuesday

Toddler Tuesday is an action packed program designed for toddlers 12 months to 4 years and their adults. This is a time for adults to bond with their toddlers while engaging in hands-on activities that promote development and acquiring age appropriate skills. Activities may include reading story books, singing songs and finger plays, crafts, games, guided walks and up close encounters with Oatland’s animal ambassadors. Call 912-395-1517 to reserve today!
Pre-registration is required and can be done by calling 395-1517 or online at www.oatlandkids.wordpress.com. Please specify 10:00 or 11:00 program. If you reserve a space online, please look for an email confirmation. Your reservation may not be received if you are signing up after 4:30 pm on the Monday before the program.

Hike and Craft

Join the naturalist on a hike lasting about one hour and then create a craft as a souvenir. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Bring plenty of water. Crafts will be $2, no fee to hike. Remember, these hikes will try different trails at Mistletoe, so arrive a little early to find out where each month�s hike is starting.

Raptor Program

Every Saturday 3:00 p.m. grab a seat in the GSU Center for Wildlife Education Amphitheater to be wow’d as raptors fly overhead, up close and personal!

Reptile Program

Each Saturday May-September at 2:00 p.m. join GSU Center for Wildlife Education staff in the lecture hall for an exciting Wildlife Program featuring animals from the Center’s vast reptile collection. No two Saturdays are alike!!

Pokemon Go! Hike

Calling all Pokémon Trainers! Wormsloe is home to a large variety of Pokémon and with four gyms and nine Pokéstops. It’s the perfect place for a night adventure. We will also be holding a gym competition after the hike with badges up for grab. There will be two hikes, the first at 2 PM and the second at 5 PM.

Life in the Tidal Creeks

Our tidal creeks are teaming with life. Come learn about the vast array of life that occupies our marshes. From fiddler crabs and periwinkle snails to bottle nose dolphins and even sharks our tidal creeks.

Hooked on Fishing

Fishing in the Okefenokee is always fun and the summer is the best time to go. From catfish to brim and everything in between this is the spot to be for fishing. This program will have a ranger teaching children how to fish and then informing them on all of the fish they catch.

The event is free, however people will have to bring their own fishing poles and equipment.

Redbird Creek Trail Hike – National Trails Day

Help us make one of our biggest goals become a reality. After a morning hike on Redbird Creek trail, we need volunteers to help us work on new trails for the public.

Admission: No fees or park pass required for trail work volunteers. Those who would only like to hike will need to pay the $5 park pass.

Archaeologists Search for Clues

Archaeologist Rita  Elliot will give an interactive presentation about how archaeologists use clues to make discoveries. Hands-on activities will follow, along with a book signing for the children’s archaeology book, Tell Me Tree.
