Homeschool Day

The Garden hosts an exciting day of tours and activities exclusively for homeschool groups and families. Supplement your life science, botanical and environmental studies curriculum by visiting a tropical rain forest, a desert house and a native pitcher plant bog. Tip-toe through the treetops on the Canopy Walk and observe edible plants in the Edible Garden.

Garden Tours
Drop-in Plant Diversity Tours take groups through the outdoor gardens and the Fuqua Conservatory to explore how plants can look very different. Meet in the Hardin Visitor Center at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., or 11:30 a.m. Tours last approximately 45 minutes.

Discovery Stations
Keep an eye out for fun and interactive stations around the Garden where your group can learn more about the garden’s living collections.

Storybook Reading
Come and listen to an assortment of garden stories at 10:30 a.m.

Presentations
Amphibian Diversity: Join us to learn about the diversity of amphibians. Meet in Mershon Hall at 10 a.m.
Killer Plants: Discover the various ways plants capture and digest insects and the reason for their unique appetites. Meet in Mershon Hall at 11 a.m.
Presentations last approximately 20 minutes.

$10 per student | $10 per chaperone (max 2 per student)
Pre-registration is not required

Parking and sales tax not included. No outside food or drink.
